University time.

I receive all my university requests for a baccalaureate in mathematics. I took 2 months to decide where I should go to next years. I got a lot of dreads, but finally I choose to go to the city of Montreal at Concordia University or Montreal University or to Quebec City at Laval University.

The thinker

English struggle.

English is my second language and Concordia is an English University. After two weeks of class, I was really late, because of the high level difficulty of the class and of the language. In front of this difficulty, I have to choices.

Cross-country team.

I run since my debut in high school, but I never take this sport seriously. After my application, the coach of the cross-country team send me a mail to invite me at the time trial to be part of the cross-country team. I hesitate, but he deterred me to do the try. After, the qualifications, I enjoy it, but I have to choose if I want to continue or not.

I decide to go at the best program in mathematics in the country at Laval University. I want to be the best and study really hard. I make a friend, Julien, and he is always ready to have a party. He really wants me to flirt with some girl. What do I do?

On-the-job-training.

After three weeks of extra English class, I start to become a fluent bilingual and my program offer me an on-the-job-training to learn the ropes of a mathematician, more specifically the applications of the taxes and exchange rate. On the other hand, it's far from my home, Germany, and it's for 2 years. What do I do?

After two years, I learn the ins-and-out of the job and when I come back in Quebec the government offer me a big post in his entourage with a premium wage. I offer to me to decide where I want to work.

Finally, after one month, it was too hard and it begins to become maddening. Because of this, I decide to change program and become a math teacher at high school. After my neighborhood school check my background check, they offer me a job for grade eight or grade ten.

A good company.

The other 8th grade teacher is funny and beautiful. We work together a lot to give a good atmosphere for the student and this week we will learn the bills. My own business.

After a crazy night at a bar, I found an idea for my future. I will start my own watch company. So, I quit school and I decide with my friend, Julien, to start this business. With the none experience we have in marketing we think to hire a actuary, Grégoire.

Ph.D.

I continue to study and finish a doctorate in Mathematics. My project was to invent a good cheap calculator for the cegep's student. My product becomes very popular and at the age of 35, I take my retirement of the Research Center to do a leg work, where I give some conferences.

We go to a restaurant, and I fell in love with her. Three years later, I ask her to marry me. She says yes. We build a beautiful family, and live a happy life all together.

After many weeks and months of training, I run at the XC Championship at Quebec City. After the middle of the run I am third, 12 seconds behind the first, and I see my mom on the course. It gives my all the motivation to finish the race first, and receive an offer of a USA team of cross-country at Oregon.

Chemical lab.

My studies bring me to work in a chemical lab at my university, where the goal is to find a way to make sublimation from ice to gas, with the less energy demand possible. Unfortunately, a strange gas is release by the experience, and it gives me some dizziness. Should I stay home or continue to work?

What a career!

I run for one of the best coaches, Jack Daniel, and after 2 years of hard training. I win a gold medal at the XC World Championship at England. I end my career on this good grade, and continue my life by coaching my local high school cross-country team as a volunteer.

A bad injury.

On the next race, someone pushes me, and I fell in the ditch. After a little trip in the ambulance for the emergency, the doctor announces me that I broke my ACL. For the next five years I relearn how to walk, and if I'm lucky, one day, I would be able to walk again.

Lucky.

After one week of rest, I come back to the lab for work in good shape. After two years of tests and analyses, we finally found a way. My works are rewarded by an honor purse. Really proud of myself.

I continue to work even with my bad health. Two years later at my annual doctor's visit, I make a urine test, and they find out that I have a lung cancer from the gas at the lab. I finish my life, to go twice a week for a chemotherapy, where I lost all my hair. I should stay home.
